Camden County NJ Domestic Violence AttorneysPolice recently arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed his wife at their home in Stratford, New Jersey.

According to Camden County law enforcement, the suspect and his 35-year-old wife got into a heated argument at their home, which is located on Wright Avenue in Stratford NJ. At some point, the verbal altercation turned physical and the suspect allegedly used a handgun to shoot his wife.

The victim’s body was discovered when Camden County police conducted a welfare check at the house. The victim was discovered in the bedroom.

Camden County investigators later talked to the suspect’s family members and discovered that he had dropped off the couple’s young daughter at the Lindenwold NJ home of a relative. This occurred not long after the suspect allegedly committed the homicide.

The 33-year-old suspect was later apprehended by federal authorities in Alexandria, Virginia.

The suspect now faces charges for first degree murder. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, murder is the most serious crime in the New Jersey Criminal Code and could lead to life imprisonment in NJ State Prison, with a minimum mandatory term of incarceration of 30 years.

According to investigators, the suspect and his wife were having “marital difficulties.” However, it is not believed that the suspect’s wife ever sought a temporary restraining order (TRO) against her husband.
